Crazy how the Auto industry finessed Americans into buying SUV's.

A truck for what exactly? Not saying you’re wrong necessarily, but any truck duty can be accomplished via any old ass truck and a dolly…. You don’t need a new truck for truck duties
Did I say a “new truck”? I just said “a truck” which means any truck. I had a ‘69 Chevy as my truck in my hometown when I was there. Couldn’t use it here in Dallas because it wouldn’t keep up with traffic and was a gas guzzler (and no A/C), so I left it. I’d be happy with like a 2013 Sierra Denali crew cab for where I am…technically an “old truck”

I cant speak for people without kids but if you got young kids you pretty much gotta have one. Back in my day :flabbynsick: you could fit 3,4,5 kids in the backseat of a car if need be. Now with them being in carseats until they are 15 you just cant. You can fit 2 seats max. So if you got more than 2 kids or other stuff that you are taking with you, you gotta have an SUV.

South Florida: a paved over coastal flat swamp drowning in SUVs. Putting aside Yusnaby that just got here from Cuba and rents an efficiency in Hialeah but drives a rebuilt title previously flooded BMW X1 so he can front on the gram, everyone from magatards to 9-5 Kendall dwellers to Aventura condo flippers to Little Haiti renters getting gentrified pushes random American and Japanese SUVs. My ex-girls mom just HAD to cop a brand new Kia SUV with a 10% interest on a 7 year loan, and that's what the average buyer is doing nowadays.

this is so not true. I only have two kids, but putting 4 people in a sedan is not an issue. even when I had one in a babyseat, it wasn't an issue. now if you're talking about a coupe or something, then I would agree.

when I grew up, there were 3 kids, and my mom always had a sedan, and my pops typically had a sedan, and once he had a station wagon. yet, we were all able to fit in the car no problem.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Sitting up high is great. You can see traffic further ahead which makes driving safer.

If that’s the case tractor trailers would never get into accidents :mjpls:

Just another bullshyt excuse. All of these heavy ass trucks and SUV’s are the reason roads fukk up faster.

I've been driving 'long roofs' (Volvo & Saab station wagons) for 20 years. Currently in search of a Cadillac CTS-V.

My wife got a Subaru recently. It's technically an SUV but to me it's just a station wagon with a slightly higher roof. We can get a lot of snow were we live so it's nice she has all wheel drive. We also go camping and it fits all of our gear.

It's not a monster SUV my any means but it is a bit bigger than a sedan.

They say that the Subaru Outback is legendary in states like Colorado and Michigan

Im old enough to have experienced sitting in the front middle where the console is. It was def a gaggle of us in one car back in the 90’s. I got a coupe and an elementary kid in a booster. Its not bad and i dont ever have to volunteer or worry about people asking can i carpool.

But once you gotta take a road trip or they start playing sports, you cooked.

We got a suv for that reason alone

Los Angeles ,California…
If u live in Buffalo or a Minnesota i would say it’s mandatory to get a heavy duty pickup truck or even a cheap dump truck because of the harsh winters

If u have a family i can understand as well

But we talking more than 4 people and young kids which is birth to 6/7 now. Thats just not feasible in a car anymore.
