i dont know to what extent it happens or doesnt happen where you are, but thieves will be thieves.

nikkas be stealing the vases from tombstones and cashing in on at metal scrap yards and the such.

the more bolder nikkas will dig up graves or break into mausoleums if they know theres valuable stuff in there.

I know people will steal anything. I've dug out two small ponds, maybe three ft deep. It would take several nights to hand dig a grave.

In a separate but related note, before the days of autopsy and embalming when ppl had to be buried on the same day they died. If a pregnant woman was pronounced dead she was buried on the same day which often resulted in alot of coffin births. Where either she wasnt dead to begin with and ended up dying and her body expelled the fetus or she was dead and her body began to decompose, swell up and gases pushed out the fetus. Either way coffin births were a real thing.
