Make sure you're maxing out your company's match before you look to other investments. When you leave the company just roll it over to the Roth account

I'm so pissed. I'm 35 and I had no knowledge of a ROTH 10 years ago, but I have my 401k.

Yea I didn't start my ROTH till I was 32. Better late than never though.

I am getting the match. Comcast was at 6% but now it's at 4.5 after the 2008 crash. No pension. So we have to be savvy and create our own retirement.

To anyone reading this thread right now, if you are in your 20's and don't have an IRA, go to Vanguard right now and sign up. It will take 10 mins and it'll be one of the best decisions you've ever made. Even if you're in your 30's, it's still a good idea, but if you're in your 20's it's a MUST.

same here, but I am going to rollover my old retirement account into ameritrade. got another small investment I wanna send there as well. and I have a sizeable amount of cash that I need to start having working for me.

Aggressive as fukk. 93% stocks 7% bonds in 401k. 66% stocks 33% commodities in IRA. 90% stock 10% bonds in my other brokerage acct.

I'm only 36 so there's plenty of time to weather the coming crash.

401k is through my job.
IRA is through USAA.
I use Betterment.com for my other investments. (Highly recommended, I'm at 50-something percent roi since 2012)
And Ameritrade for trades.
