Creating your own classics

I remember somebody here a long time ago said that considering most of these album's today are gonna contain skip ables or "top 40 songs" that you're gonna have to create your own classics. So for example We heard Eminem's MM LP 2 album. It had a bunch of skipable shyt that could have been easily replaced by the bonus cuts which led me to like the album better.

So if you were a A&R how would you put together a cohesive album for any artist of your choosing? What would you have title the album?For example you can choose Bone Thugs WW III album. Which songs would you have takened out or replaced them with? Mixtape songs, unreleased cuts are also welcomed as well.

only thing i would have changed about that Bone album would be better mixing/mastering and having Krayzie on at least 5 more songs and Wish on 2 more. other than that i dig the record considering its 2013.

that Em record is fine too...remove his singles and he's not gonna sell much..so i say its fine as is.

for that Jay record though i would have maybe finished a few of the short songs and took Tom Ford off.

My custom copy of Relapse, "My Darling" was clearly supposed to come after the Dr. West skit, and Crack A Bottle only made the album because it leaked and caught some steam on itunes, it fukks up the theme. This shyt right here plays front to back like a movie. I thought about taking "we made you" out but it actually fits the theme, he stays shytting on females in his music yet they were a big part of the reason he's such a star.

I have never changed an album around before MMLP2. Well usually there aren't bonus tracks to do that, but I also don't like changing an album from it's original form. Just a pet peeve. But I had to do it on MMLP2 because I was skipping too many tracks and the bonus tracks were better and fit the album more.

I've seen people make double discs for I Am/Nastradamus/TLT/unreleased stuff, but I'm fine with those albums the way they are.

Yea I've thought about changing Relapse around since it has all those bonus tracks. I think Old Time's Sake is an alright track (not good, but not horrible), but agreed that it doesn't fit the album. I would replace Insane, Bagpipes, and Medicine Ball with Buffalo Bill, Music Box, and Elevator since those tracks are garbage, and the Refill ones are much better.
