OP got banned a year ago. :mjlol:
Anyway, I've been doing this for the longest time. Getting paid by credit card companies for cash back. Never paying interest by paying off bills every month.

What do you recommend for someone whose spending on the card will mainly be eating out, bars, rent (for the next 6 months) and some travel? I already have the Amex Gold Premier Rewards which gives me 3x points on travel booked on the card. I don't really want to pay more than $100 in annual fees since I'm a grad student, though if a card offers no annual fees for the first year, I'm fine with that.

MBNA Rewards Elite(canadian card) has served me well. Straight 2% cash back on everything. $89 annual, waived for the first year.

the sapphire preferred is the go to right now from what I know, they give you a pretty high credit line if you're approved too.

the first year is free after that I think it's $89 or $100.

spend 4k in a month or two you get $500 back

I use it whenever I eat/drink/gas so it works out.

I've been using a Discover cash back card for a couple of years now and I love it. Recently Discover added 5% for every purchase made in amazon. I don't know the difference between the cash back card and the IT card it seems like they have the same exact benefits. I also have a capitol one platinum card that I never use because the rewards are whack. I'm going to close the Capital One card and find another 2nd card with better rewards. I'm looking for flyer miles specifically because that's the only thing my Discover card is lacking.

just upgraded to the blue cash preferred from the reg blue cash.

6% cash back on groceries, 3% on gas and dept stores. Normal card was 3/2/2. 1 % on every thing else.

100 back on a 1000 if you spend it in the first three months. Xmas, thanks giving and new years coming so thats no problem.

The catch is there is a 95 dollar annual fee.

But, i did the math and i just have to spend (on groceries) 31 dollars per week to cover the annual fee, and 60 dollars per week to make more than i would on the regular card @ 3% cash back.

Gonna be buying some gift cards with my groceries :mjpls:

This is all the cashback I'm sitting on The first is my Blue Cash Preferred the second is my Discover It and the third is my Chase Freedom It's about $600 in cashback. I play to maybe use some of it on the Nintendo Switch If I get it and the rest on the Xbox Scorpio.
