I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
The last four months of WCW was actually pretty good. Steiner was a good heel champion with Booker T chasing after him. They were starting to push younger talent like Elix Skipper, Mike Sanders, Romeo, the Yung Dragons, the guys in 3 Count, etc.

That Steiner/DDP match at Greed was a great way to go out for WCW PPVs. There were some great things going on in WCW toward the end, but it was sadly too little, too late at that point.

Rusev Reigns, Jericho Sami, new day the club have storylines? To me it's just dudes wrestling and cutting generic ima beat you promos plus some bad comedy. Every week is the same shyt, tell me where's the story... I said this in the network thread, Mike Awesome getting his bus tagged up is more of a storyline than this shyt. It gave a reason as to why he should fukk up vampiro. Why should Rusev fight reigns and not someone else? All these guys are interchangeable nowadays, all the feuds are the same shyt.

Note that raw got its lowest rating in 20 years. This is a show for the super marks. Nobody watches this shyt anymore. WCW at its worst was pulling in 3's up to 3,5s with Russo writing. Russo wrote the highest rated segment in Raw history....if that's trash then what's good. to me it's weird how the Internet fans hate on this dude n give Raw a free pass. Nowadays with shyt like Lucha Underground you can see what a wrestling company should look like. We have something to compare Raw to since that show has a nice budget.. LU is clearly better in every facet, top to bottom...WWE has the money but they don't put the effort in whatsoever.

WWE, inc brought in a revenue of $658.7 million in 2015. Their highest in its history.

Probably why they could give a shyt less about the week to week ratings. But also why it makes no sense that they dont put any money into their weekly programming.

It does if you think about the new purpose of television. Get fans to pay $9.99/ month for the network. Right now, they make the most money from USA and its television partners, but the days of cable tv as we know it are dying. Big networks like USA,ESPN,TNT getting propped up by people that dont watch them. WWE Network not being picked up as a basic cable channel forced WWE to be ahead of its time in getting its Network established years before every other sports vehicle does the same thing.

I started watching this off the strength of the OP. Started at that Nitro when Russo came out and watching till the end. I didn't really watch as it happened so this is mostly new to me.

Sooooo much fukkery brehs, 90%of the matches with run ins, dropping "shyt" like every other promo, the struggle entrance themes, mark madden. It's actually fascinating to watch. The audience was feeling it though, at least early on in the new blood era.

April 10, 2000. Pepsi Center. Denver, Co. continued…

The fukkery continues. :russ:

Now we have Lex Luger w/Liz coming out but something’s different. Eazy E and Russo have cut his entrance music and his pyro. Luger walks out to the ring in darkness. He does have his spotlight shining down on the ring so he begins to pose but then the house lights come on. Luger like :francis: The mind games continue. They tryna hoe these vets somethin serious.

Lex Luger vs. DDP (tournament semifinal)

They didn’t do a great job of explaining this but basically DDP/Luger and then Sting/Sid. The winner of this mini tournament will face Jeff Jarrett at Spring Stampede for I’m assuming the World Heavyweight title. No more than a minute into the match Buff Bagwell comes out outta nowhere and he’s getting the full entrance, pyro out the ass lol. Buff is “new blood” apparently. Buff outchea flirting with Kimberly and Liz :mjlol:

DDP hits a Diamond Cutter off the distraction. A nothing match.

Backstage Curt Hennig says he wants to face Jarrett. Russo says if he wins he’ll go to Stampede. Hogan is looking around for Eric.

Now Tank Abbott is out. Tank says he’s not a candy ass “wrassler”, he’s a SHOOT FIGHTER. He wants Bill Goldberg. This promo is wack af, Tank is not good on the mic :scusthov:

Tank lookin for someone to fight and a guy in the crowd is yelling at him. Hudson says “don’t encourage that mark!”

Tank dragged Mark Madden in the ring and kicked his ass. Good.

Hogan finally finds Eric. Hogan says “I just talked to Sting, this time you’re doing the end around on me?” Eric says “no, now you know me better than that. I learned from you. I learned from the best” :ehh: They continue the discussion in private.

Kidman is walking out with a microphone. This could get ugly. Kidman says the egomaniacs have been holding him down. He’s calling out Hulk Hogan. Hogan made fun of his size lol. Kidman says Hogan got that orange tan from being in the spotlight too long lol. Kidman says he can’t draw flies but Hogan knows about flies because he’s a piece of shyt lol. Kidman says Hogan’s balls ain’t as big as his bald spot.

Hogan is out :mjpls: and he’s got something to say :bustback:

Hogan says Kidman has been whining for weeks “when am I gonna get the break, when am I gonna get the push” Hogan says “Kidman, if you were in my league you’d understand the business but you’re too p*ssy whipped” in reference to Torrie Wilson :russ:

Kidman attacks the Hulkster. Hogan beats the shyt out of Kidman until Eric comes out. Hudson says “oh, they’re back together! It must have been a work!” but Eric nails Hogan with a chair and celebrates with Kidman.

Now Flair arrives in a white limo.

Cut to Hogan backstage and he’s tearing shyt up. He’s bleeding all over and sayin “where are you Kidman goddammit you son of a bytch!”

Flair is backstage watching the replay of what Eric said about all the vets and he’s like :dwillhuh:

Flair coming out to the ring. This should be interesting. Flair says Russo can’t do nuthin because he grew up watching him. Flair said “You think when Brian Griese throws a touchdown they forget about Elway! No, Elway is the man.” Points to himself “Elway.” Lol. Flair rambling now. Calls out Russo.

Out comes not Russo.. but the “loose cannon” Big Poppa Pump! Steiner calls Flair an old b*stard. Says him and his friends tried to get him fired. Steiner mocks Flair. All of a sudden Shane Douglas out of nowhere attacks flair. Tony says “he doesn’t work here!”

Now Big Sexy Kevin Nash has arrived to the building. They show Bret Hart sitting in the audience.

Sid vs. Sting (tournament semifinal)

Another short match. Out comes The Wall and he is carrying a table. He chokeslams Sid through a table. Sid is counted out so Sting wins.

Jeff Jarrett vs. Curt Hennig - It’s a brawl and out comes Shawn Stasiak. He attacks Hennig and it sets up a Jarrett W. :francis:

Shane Douglas and Flair have a brawl until Russo shows up with a baseball bat. They beat the shyt out of Ric Flair. They are sending a clear message to the “Millionaire’s Club”.

Nash is out. Says Eric and Russo are “jagoffs” and now they wanna play wrestler. Nash says he just talked to Scott and he’s in a bad mood. Says Shawn would have gotten rid of Russo a hundred times in WWF if it wasn’t for him. Says Eazy E would be moppin up Gagne’s coffee in Minnesota if it wasn’t for the Outsiders. Nash gets attacked by Mike Awesome.

Hogan is on the phone with his attorney in his limo when out of nowhere a white hummer collides with his limo. It’s Eric Bischoff driving it and he continues to ram the Hummer into the limo :mjlol:

Paramedics on the scene. They are putting Hogan on a stretcher. Kidman shows up and spray paints “NB” on Hogan’s shirt. :ehh:

Sting vs. DDP (tournament final)

They have a decent match. Jarrett is out but is attacked by DDP. VAMPIRO shows up also and attacks Sting. DDP is crawling back into the ring. Diamond Cutter on Sting. DDP is going to Spring Stampede to fight Double J.

Jarrett back in the ring. Swings a guitar at DDP but misses and nails Kimberly with it :mjlol: the fukkery

Nitro ends with a brawl between multiple members of the New Blood and the Millionaire’s Club.

This wasn’t a bad show necessarily. There is a clear direction between the two groups and on the surface the worked/shoot aspects of this are promising. The crowd is hot for these segments. The only downside is there was barely any actual wrestling but I understand why. Not a horrendous start to the reboot. :manny:
