At that point in their careers, Jericho and Edge had certainly put in the work to be able to watch hockey at a house show without a dude with years to a decade less time in giving them shyt and being a pouty bytch about it.

Punk is a huge hockey fan as well, but he was able to put that shyt to the side for the love of the sport. You can't fault the man for taking wrestling seriously when most of these wrestlers are happy being lifelong jobbers and don't put forth 100% effort into their craft.

He put in 2 years of MMA training before fighting and losing. I don't know what Miz has to do with any of this other than having an undeserved WM spot and a shytty title run. At least Miz improved tenfold since then.

Eh, I see why you feel that way. But it's like when people call Bret Hart for being a mark for himself. I never bought into that. They're both maybe TOO passionate about pro wrestling and IMO were too gullible and trusting of Vince in hopes things would eventually go their way. So if that makes them marks, then sure. They were finessed for sure.
I remember Scott Hall said Bret had a shrine for himself (probably drunktales) and said he himself doesn't care about jobbing, just "beat me every night, pay me"... but Hall ended up relapsing after finding out WM plans were changed and he was gonna job to Austin.
