That's what I see the Asians and Arabs do (at least in Dallas).
I've known engineers, accountants and the like with zero debt making $$$$$$ and still living with mom and dad, even into their late 20s. Parents house was paid for already, so only bill kids had was splitting the lights/water/cable bills and paying for their own (nice) car.
They save a lot of money with the arranged marriage shyt. No shacking up, so they don't have to worry about housing until it's time to wed. Lots of traveling all over the world and just stacking dough. Then the parents, aunties, uncles....all team up and give em a nice down-payment on a house. Could be anywhere from $40k to $100k+ depending on the family. Combine that with all the money saved by living at home and they can drop damn near half the money on a $500k starter home.
