I know as much about battle rap as you do...I am not saying that battle rappers are not talented, I am just saying it is a talent that has VERY LITTLE to do with actual rapping skills...

Until battle rap starts incorporating beats, I don't believe they are even rappers...

It should be called "Battle Spoken Word"...

(1) Which battles haven't I seen that are different from the average? Because my opinion is based on the GOLD STANDARD Loaded Lux, Hollow Da Don, Murda Mook, Clips and etc...

These are the dudes at the forefront of Battle Rap...I don't care about some irrelevant Battle Rapper from your block...

(2) And all the dudes I listed above are just "Spoken Word" performers...They tell PREDOMINANTLY lame jokes and make exaggerated death threats...

(3) If you are not a funny guy, and you are battling a rapper you know nothing about, so you can't joke about his life, how will you win a Rap Battle? You probably won't, because the crowd wants jokes...

The talent in Battle Rap is making the crowd enjoy your humiliation of your opponent, and the best way to do this is by telling jokes....

(4) The other thing about Battle Rap is that at the HIGHEST level, it is pretty much 100% subjective...Hollow Da Don fans will think that he has the best bars, and Loaded Lux fans will think that he has the best bars...

So, there is NO objectivity in deciding who actually won...

(5) Conclusion, it is a bullshat "dikk riding driven" sub-genre of rap music...

(1) I did as you asked and watched some "old lionz den battles"...And what did I see and hear? Exactly what I am talking about, jokes and threats...And who were the rappers who had the crowd behind them? the ones who could deliver jokes and had a talent for comedic timing...

(2) Like I original stated, Battle Rap is amateur stand up comedy, the dudes who have a talent for teasing other people and telling funny stories don't ANY other skill (except making sure the jokes end on a rhyme) will win 9/10 times...

Again, Sirius Jones DESTROYED Jin and Charles Hamilton , 2 rappers that probably had a better shot at the mainstream than him, because he is the better comedian...

Even Jada Kiss who is bar for bar one of the best spitters in mainstream hip hop would probably lose these Battle Rappers...Their ENTIRE field is based on telling jokes and making threats...

They are amateur stand-up comedians in rhyme form...

(3) DO NOT misinterpret my stance on Battle Rap as "these guys don't have talent"...This is NOT my argument...My argument is that these dudes are more comedians than rappers...But the best ones are SUPER talented, and I do enjoy it for the comedy and nothing else..
