She IS beautiful. What makes her less deserving of the title than any other woman? Why would someone intentionally try to tear at another person's confidence? Especially someone as genuine as Lupita. From what I can tell she's been nothing but gracious and appreciative of the support she's received from the black community.

Fair enough. Also you have to take account that most black men think skinny women with defined bodies=masculine whilst in many other cultures like in Europe, lupitas body type would be treasured as feminine. Lupita is very facially aethietic tho. She just needs to fix that hairline.

I gotta agree. The most "beautiful women" label they placed her seemed calculating on their part.

Obama has family in Kenya + white people trying obsessively to not look racist = Most Beautiful label for Lupita. Frankly, I'm a sucker for a pretty smile and eyes, which she has. Earlier today, I posted the following picture on LSA:



And asked posters how they could seriously use such hyperbole to describe her as the 'most beautiful women in the world'? And of course, I was attacked, called all types of names and had my blackness questioned.

Like, c'mon, is she the best black women can do? Do they not realize that they are low key shading themselves by considering her some kind of unattainable standard. She's not even remarkable for a Kenyan.

Sometimes, I feel like when people talk about her, it's like some perverse version of the Emperor's New Clothes. People are too afraid to say what they actually want to say.

If she were a stud, I'd consider her cute. But that's it - cute.
