Lupita is a weird case. Because yes, while she is pretty, she also embodies a lot of negative physical stereotypes, i.e . Horrible hairline, overly masculine body, etc.

After reading this thread, I never want to hear another thread by a 'black' woman saying dark skinned sistas don't get no shine or they are overlooked in popular culture. I mean we got people droppinng her down to the same level as Gabby Sidibe.

Stop it, you are promoting the stereotypes that you are supposed to be against. A Black woman's body is not a monolith, every black woman does not have to be built like a video model, she is slender but she is not emaciated, she is physically fit. Like I said, I don't even like skinny women but can appreciate her beauty. You seem to have some sort of hard-on (figuratively) against her. I'm not saying she's above criticism, but her success seems to dig at you some way. I never thought I would see the day where a dark-skinned woman who wears natural hair and is a prominent actress in hollywood would get so much side eye.

I think Lupita is really pretty. Obviously not the most beautiful woman but many women have been given this title while being really average. But what I like about her is the fact that she looks completely natural. And, if I could relate to one celebrity physicaly talking, it'd be her.
She has short hair, like mine. She has dark skin, even though she's darker than me, we're still in the same category. She has a 4C type of hair, like mine.
In my opinion, girls with 4c who keep it super short are exhibiting slight self-hate qualities.
She used to perm her hair and starting shaving it when she became a stud/lesbian in college.

I'm far from self hating. Sorry to deceive you. Everyone has different types of hair. My hair doesn't grow that much and I honestly don't care that much. I wouldn't know what to do if I had a long hair on the top of my head anyway. There was one time where it grew .. neck length but .. I guess it got too much heat and it .. broke I guess.
You and plenty of others might like long hair but not everyone is made for it nor likes it.
