Crooked I- Apex Predator

I use to be a crooked i stan basically, i just dont care anymore.

Waited so long for this to drop and now im barely motivated to download. Take 15 years to drop your debut brehs.

The above and it hurts me to say it.

I was a huge Crooked I fan from the get go. He just sounds confused to me, with the sound i am hearing. I watched the single for this where he is basically impersonating Ross and shouting all over the dam record. And the video made zero sense.

With all that said, its on my hard drive waiting to be heard. I'll bump it his week and hope for the best!

yeah i mean i still have all the hip hop weeklys,listen to them still to this day. i actually loved block obama 1 and 2,planet cob,mr. pigface etc he should have dropped his album after the hip hop weeklys,his buzz was never bigger, and i actually thought dream big was fukking dope. same with new west anthem.

but i checked out that yodo video and shyt was awful. ill listen to the album eventually but that im in no rush. like you said he seems lost as an artist. and he only has himself to blame. young boss vol 2 should have been his debut. i mean its pretty sad when your fukking crew has two albums out before you. thats a first in hip hop lol.

Even his Weed Carriers dropped an album before him lol. I actually fukked with the majority of Psalms, he should of just made that his album

Them weekly's were insane, he bodied them sh*ts. Your right, he had buzz then too.

I preferred Crook when he was on his westcoast tip in the 90s, even early 2000.

Them records you mentioned, they all cool but for the ability that Crook has i don't think they come near to what he should be capable of dropping. He absolutely murders a freestyle, but when it comes to a cohesive project he just seems to fall short for me.

Anyway, like i said in the other thread, after couple of listens, it's a nice album & up there w/ my favorite "newer" Crooked release, In None We Trust EP. More cohesive than Psalm 82v6 and better than earlier 08-11 EPs. Right now the last song is the only one I'm not feeling...

H.J. Do you have any info about music Crook recorded for the Million Dollar Story album?(Not the EP) Seemed like the music for that project was gonna be dope.




But on 1st listen, I wasn't feeling this at all. Beats sounded so cheap & the music felt directionless.
