Crunk is more alive than ever. To me Trap is just an evolved version of Crunk.
To a degree. It's definitely the crunk of its time but crunk was a lil different. Trap has hard beats but it's more street and drug rap. Crunk has one subject and one subject only which is fukking nikkas up in the club. You still had trap back then from dudes like T.I. and Gucci

I got nothing but love for the crunk era.

Had a LOT of fun both as a bouncer and a partier. It gets looked for being violent and all that but I never experienced much of it, if anything folks weren't "too cool" to dance and enjoy themselves.

You couldn't tell me shyt when Like a Pimp by David Banner came on

Lil Flips verse randomly pops up in my head from time to time :heh:

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Crunk was great at the time because it primarily stayed regional (if not, exclusively atlanta)

Whereas...

Everyone did trap for 5 years -from texas, miami, the mdwest, the west and even east coast rappers doing it) and it in my eyes... Got played out as fukk (the beat biting and residual effects of lex luger from 2010 to 2014 made it really trite and hohum... Almost unhearable. I dont even want to hear it from gucci and jeezy any more).

Thank god for beaTsmiths such as Ke On the track, London and Honorable C Note creating their own brand of unique aural concoctions and bringing variety to the atlanta scene. 808 mafia aint cutting it for me and i really only enjoyed a handful of tracks on DS2 and Its a good time to be alive.

Crunk was exciting becase it was pure, raw and unadulterated fun (i may be a tad biased becuz i turned 21 in 2003 and enjoyed it when it was at its years of apexual zenith).

Its what i identify with being young, wild, free and quasi responsible.

Plus the shiit sounds better in the whip.
