Upon reading DMX's continuous troubles with the law, I went back and listened to his old music. I found this old gem.
This is probably the realest song he ever did. This really touched my soul man. So much that I've listened to every live performance of this song just to see the raw emotion he has. When I listened to the lyrics line by line, it told a really sad, but real story about himself and many other people who go through similar things.
Look at the live performance below at 2:50. The dude in the background on the right starts legit crying when X says "I WANNA MAKE RECORDS BUT I'M fukkING IT UP"
Why is it that cries for help through rap music go ignored? Where is the media when real shyt like this is produced? Where's the Oprah & Dr. Phil's at to bring these stories to the forefront and to spread positive awareness? Oh wait, they're only there to criticize negative rap music and expose artists as crazy.
