It's king of money. It's universal money. Can't even be argued otherwise at this point
Not even the bitcoin/btc purists still call it a currency because of how slow it is. They have shifted its purpose to a store of value like gold.

If you understood the purpose of money, and the technology behind bitcoins blockchain network, you would never fix your fingers to type that rubish.

Digital money can't function on a global scale processing one transaction every 10 minutes

To be determined if Lighting Network can be the supportive Layer 2 to fulfill that dream

Until then, digital store of value

it don't need to be some everyday currency to buy some starbucks latte.

it's been working on a global scale for 15 years. securely. decentralized. moving trillions. no other asset is doing that. somebody moving millions around the world just wants that shyt to arrive safely. They don't give a damn if it arrives in 1 minute vs 10 minutes. 10 mins is still 100x faster than sending it thru SWIFT banking system.

it's not even a question

"Bitcoin is too slow."

"Bitcoin is only used by criminals"

Next time any of y'all come across these comments, show them this thread:

Kenya:

Ghana:

S. Africa:

Costa Rica:

Honduras:

Brazil:

Guatemala:

Uruguay:

Should I start a separate thread about bitcoin adoption around the world as a medium of exchange and other interesting use cases?

Yea, you can say what you want but your statement isn't rooted in the reality of what's going.

The fact remains it is a store of value now, and can not move the worlds money efficiently. The lightning network is not reliable, and has a high error rate for moving something as important as value. On top of that the lightning network uses centralized nodes which reduces the security, and goes against the whole purpose of bitcoin.

Bitcoin was great when it first came out, but it's over as a currency. It's not practical. If you understood how the bitcoin blockhain network worked you would understand why what you said doesn't make sense.

Anybody can run a lightning node and connect to whichever peer is open for connection and route payments.

You see that little gray box on the right? I'm running both LND (Lightning Network Daemon) and CLN (Core Lightning) nodes on a computer that I paid less than $100 from Amazon. Easiest way for people to run their own bitcoin and lightning nodes to connect wallets (i.e., Sparrow, Zeus) is by running StartOS:

Please go ahead and make that thread. It will be the greatest disaster.

The IMF is already pressuring countries to not use btc as legal tender.

Germany sold their reserve and called it the digital tulip.

El Salvador reversed btc as legal tender.

NASDAQ are trying to get people to move past btc and into the actual future of finance.

Showing some videos of people transacting with btc over the lightning betwork doesn't prove anything.

This is like trying to prove the floppy disc is still the best storage device in 2025 because some people are still using it or its making a comback.

About half of the lightning networks nodes are ran by approximately 5 entities, but you want to argue that the lightning network is not centralized? :dead:

One of the biggeat concerns is that it will become more centralized overtime.

It is decentralized in theory, but centralized in practice.

the opposition in argentina is calling for milei’s impeachment after this rug pull

imagine living in a country where your president blatantly scams his own citiz…oh wait :francis:

They show his texts up on the screen around the 1 minute mark

Craziest thing about these coins is that you'll put money into them and it's some dude like this pulling the rug on you.

Bitcoin is a lie ..

As it has value that can never be removed from the fent king and the lost bitcoin from the guy in London.

Fent king only got to remove 2 mil. In an effort to not get caught.
Fent king made 2ook an hour at one point.

Plus is responsible reportedly, allegedly. for more than 900k opiod deaths alone

Stop believe'n these lies.

The stock market is a lie. Ran by Russian hackers who stole this current election too. Most of them were going to prison. As the fed released their transcripts. Of which they admitted. They would possibly get caught. That they were such poor traders. They could not cover up their profits. From Insider trading.

Stop believe'n this bullshyt.
