He's also happy with the way Microsoft handled and promoted the game. But it's always been the case that they wanted to branch out with the franchise, which is why they retained ownership of the IP
"For Ryse 2, we aren't saying it's cancelled. It's our IP. It just has to wait for the right timing. And the right timing means higher installed base across next-gen."
Now they will wait until next gen has a large enough user base to warrant an investment on the sequel.
I know y'all want to hold on to the one Xbox quote, but its so much more to what he was saying about their situation and the industry in general. You should read the entire interview instead of just these cherry picked quotes.
