Like I've said, Cudi wasn't that great of an artist, but I wouldn't lie and say he didn't make good music. He should had never abandoned the Alternative Hip-Hop lane he was in (which gave us his best music) for Alternative Rock (which has given us some of the worst music over the last few years).

Everyone can't make that transition smoothly....Wayne tried it, failed and went back to doing what he's known for. On paper, it looked like Cudi had a better chance of succeeding (I kinda saw it coming), but it didn't. Now he wants to off himself because everyone is shytting on the album and rightfully so. I understand how it feels to be depressed because I've been there but gotdamn my nikka...get some thick skin. Muthafukka has a nice life, a daughter and has all the freedom he wants to make do/anything. Grow some fukking nuts nh smh

Cudi hates Hip-Hop so much....he's trying his hardest to distance himself away from it. He needs to go back to his roots and make the music that gave him the fanbase he's earned (which he's now squandered away).

Nah I don't blame him. There's not a lot of new hip-hop that intrigues me at all. Maybe 2-3 people I can consistently check for anymore. Don't get me wrong, a lot of great artists making great music but at some point, especially when you listen to other genres, you get sick of it and want to do something different.

He's trying to do something different I can give him credit for it, but yeah this shyt is mostly trash. MOTM2 and MOTM and AKNC is some of the greatest music I've ever heard tho, and Cudi is one of my favorite music people, period.

I thought he had found a perfect balance with MOTM, there was a lot of hip-hop influence and some rock stuff there and it went hard, but then he went full retard and started doing really terrible Nirvana impressions with this.

Nah breh, my taste in most forms of music is pretty extensive. It comes from hitting up venues in the city and spending winters getting high and browsing music when I was living in the North. Everything from Sonic Youth to At The Drive-In to Wavves to Defeater to Deafheaven and so on stays in my playlist, in addition to all the Hip-Hop I consume. This isn't bad at all, people just didn't expect it on a major release.

I'll let that one slide, but when it comes to indie culture, I know my shyt. This is chill music to vibe to late at night, and it fits the vibe. You just gotta be in a certain state to listen to it.

WZRD was trash but I like to keep up with new releases and if an artist's doing something different, I'll give it a fair listen. A lot of these new indie bands are just trying to copy LPs like Loveless and Surfer Rosa, but I feel like this is more like when Black Flag dropped My War, where most people won't fukk with it, but a few people will and it'll influence that part of the population heavy.

This definitely isn't the best music I've heard this year, not by a long shot, and it plays more like a collection of demos than an actual album, so I can see why people don't fukk with it, but I like lo-fi stuff because sometimes when songs are too overproduced it takes out the rawness and authenticity.



Oh Cudi's definitely trying to ape Nirvana here, obviously Nirvana's much better but there basically aren't any bands that have maintained the level Nirvana were at besides artists like Led Zeppelin and the Velvet Underground. It's funny because a lot of this shyt reminds me of With The Lights Out - he's obviously trying to do a Kurt impression and some of it's off and some of it's on, but overall it's really not as bad as people are trying to say it is.

I'm clearly not going to change anyone's opinion which is fine, people have their own tastes and I can dig that. These pills are starting to kick in anyways so I'm going to drift off and see how this holds up in the morning. Later
