I used to be a huge Curren$y fan and listener but after a while it all sounded the same. Can't remember the last time I listened to one of his tracks.

He stays in his lane :yeshrug:

Devin The Dude raps about nothing but weed, women, with a little introspection and observations on life and he dropped 4 near classic albums in a row

If you do it well then keep doing it IMO. I think part of OPs comment might come from the fact that Currensy has dropped SO much music, SO many albums and mixtapes. If you listen to all of it and you're not his biggest fan you will probably get sick of it. That's how I am with him, I really only listen to Covert Coup and Pilot Talk 1. I'm not a huge fan so I'm not gonna search through dozens of albums looking for good songs it's just on a kill everything for me.

I agree with you 100% about Devin tho, I love his first 4 albums and even Landing Gear. And his others are pretty good, he's got back on track recently with the beats too.

Anyone notice how moden era rappers ALWAYS stay in their lane and don't leave it compared to past era rappers.
Other era rappers like say Jadakiss will throw in a political song or bar here and there at least.

Crazy big spitta fan but he is pretty limited on content and he does become lazy on the mic. But when he want to spit he is clever as fuk and spits some very motivational shyt which is why i fukk with him hard plus his beat selection is impeccable.

I understand some you guys want spitta to expand his content. But when he does some of that shyt sounds forced and corny Examples

But then he can make tracks like this which come off dope. Most of the mixtape takeover material he spit about a lot of different shyt though

Oh and Curren$y is more technical than he gets credit for imo.

Curren$y is technical as hell, it's just his flow is so smooth that people gloss over it. I mean, He's not Sean Price/AZ/Elzhi/Tech9/Em technical, but still.

As far as the thread, what's the point in complaining? It's like hoping Mos Def spit some gangsta street shyt. Dude perfected what he and his fanbase wants. I made a post on it elsewhere and I'm sticking to it: Some folks may get mad because he's 2 dimensional, but outside of Styles P from The Lox, you aren't gonna find an MC with more tracks and mixtapes whos as consistent lyric and trackwise as Curren$y.

Dude has perfected his formula. Expecting something else is like being mad because Popeyes doesn't serve pizza and cheeseburgers.

Stupid post. He has a distinct rhyming style and lazy flow, maybe it's just difficult for you to really focus in on what he's saying. But he doesn't lack depth at all.
No he's not versatile, but if you are truly unique, trying to be versatile is a waste of time. You don't go to a Steakhouse and order chicken.

Yeah, I gave up really checking for him about 3 years ago. shyt is cool background music but he would drop a tape and I'd normally keep 2-4 songs from it.

I never seen the growth or any time of hunger from him. It's like he is content with his lil cult following which I'm sure works for him....

I guess he is kinda like the Devin the Dude of this generation
