I love all three, but you're right. The first two take me back.
That DD172 set-up that Dame had was a beautiful thing. He was trying to operate under the handshake deal, friends just making music with the focus being more on the content. Artistry shyt. But those artists wanted more of a solid business plan for the work. They just had two different visions. But for the time they were all vibing and putting out projects, it was one of the dopest crews out of NY in awhile. It was definitely a shame to see that fold.
Yup. I love 3 too But 1 & 2 are special just cuz how dope of a time 2010-11 was for me. I had just got my first apartment, was a junior in college, just living mane. Skybourne and Breakfast were on REPEAT. I ended up meeting Krit and DZA in 2011
You know what? All these damn projects Spitta done dropped and he never made an EP with him, Krit and DZA. We still need that, everything they've done together is dope (No Wheaties, Skybourne, Etc Etc)
The organic vibe of those guys being in the same place made the music/art dope for DD172, but like you said most of those guys were tryna come up and needed solid bread and a plan. It's still salutes to Dame from fostering that environment tho
