The wild thing is currensy did kind of half apologize and ended up doing extensive promo and lots more music videos on his following projects after Gibbs said thatFFS Gibbs always overreacting

I've wanted a Styles and Alc project for so long.
Styles and Currensy also have a good history of fire together. Not limited to but including the following.

He said something on one Interview a while back, but they still cool. They were just on a track to together on a Boldy James/Alc tape.
I liked that name too, I guess it made sense at the time they started recording…but it definitely is a continuation of the “covert” style of raps and beats that these two have created thus far

I kinda do also but I get where they were coming from. This has a jazzier, more musical vibe than Covert Coup, which had some abrasive disruptive beats. Both have really really sharp raps though. Excellent album here.

Oh I definitely get where they're coming from too. And I got reminded today that after Yacht Rock 2, Currensy commented that he wished he had taken X-Y-Z beats from that project. I definitely pick up on the aquatic theme here, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of these beats would've been considered for Yacht Rock 3 down the line if Currensy hadn't used them.
I'm just a strange head that pays too much attention to album art, album titles, themes, etc. I fukk with this, but I think I'd like it more if they weren't trying to say this is a direct sequel to Covert Coup. Like, this is clearly its own thing, and was made as its own thing. That's why I made the comment I wish they'd kept the Half Moon Bay title.
I do like that they changed the artwork away from the toppled statue like the Covert Coup cover.
I know all this sounds mad nerdy, and has nothing to do with the actual beats and the bars. I even remember when this project was first set to drop, they were gonna drop aquatic themed clothing with Nautica and Diamond Supply. That's what this sounds like to me. Fresh air warm vibes shyt.

Bruh you nailed exactly how those beats on this project sound like. Very aquatic sailing vibe. Covert Coup has that gray and black crushed concrete urban building vibes that from all the tracks and snippets I heard so far do no sound like for this new project.
I feel like I need to spray on some of this to vibe to this new joint
