Ive spent prolly over 10gs in the last couple of years just getting gear and shyt and ive crammed teaching myself shyt over countless nights tho. shyt aint easy b. Emphasis on the teaching yourself shyt part. For the past couple of weeks Ive been staying up all night just learning new techniques (hence me being on the coli so often) , last couple of days Ive been staying up until 2pm the next day. Crashing till 6pm then staying up all night again
When you work for yaself you really cant afford to end up looking like you dont kno what your doing.
Nowadays I be coolin, not really trying to move up too quick, ive gotten complacent. I can charge a mothafukka 500-1000 dollars for a video. Or if they need editing I hit nikkas with 250. Now imagine if I work with 25 people per month in a 12 month year
Whats going on recently is me and the fellas are building up a studio for underground rappers to slide thru and do they thing with. In the last 2 weeks Ive spent like 3gs just copping amps, midi keyboards, interfaces, software and a mpc. I actually came from guitar center a couple of hours ago I dropped like 600 to cop a AT4060 microphone. We really gon make this shyt official. Charging cats per hour to record n all that.
Overall im a young nikka too so I really aint trying to be Jermaine Dupri or Diddy jus yet, But off that hustle I live pretty comfortable, I also tend to meet a whole bunch of interesting folks. I know ARs for company s and im connected to the underground scene heavy round my way. Used to party promote too when I was in college but I didnt really like that nightlife shyt. It got corny quick.
But this production company stuff is all fun to me mang, its the only reason why I do it. You gotta follow ya gut, fukk doing shyt jus for the bucks $$$ , I have another job but honestly I just do it so I can afford new equipment.
