This is why everybody needs to invest in a AAA membership if they can. When I was young, dumb and full of stupidity I nearly got hemmed up like this not once but THRICE...matter of fact, probably more than that but I learned to move smarter very quickly.

If you ever at any point in your life find yourself riding dirty for whatever reason (expired tags, suspended license, etc) and get the feeling that some pigs are plotting on you (and they probably are) AAA is your BEST friend.
