Seriously how Curry would look if he was literally the only person a team had to focus on on offense. GS has so many offensive weapons from KD to Shawn Livingston...Freaking Livingston has iso plays run for him, he's not even a top 5 player on that team
:dwillhuh:

Curry has to deal with more defensive attention than any other player in the league. Probably less so this season because of Durant, but the last two years most certainly. Nobody in the history of the game (specifically the modern era; since the 3-pt line was introduced) has had to deal with more defenders/defensive attention - on/off ball there's typically 2-3 defenders in the vicinity. Teams literally change their scheme to keeping the ball out of his hands. The best example of this would probably be the 2015 Finals, when the Cavs literally had 3-4 players zoning him on defense; leaving all the complimentary players open and forcing those players to beat them.

The fact that Curry has been one of the most efficient high volume scorers this game has ever seen over the last 2-3 seasons, despite receiving more defensive attention than anyone else, AND being a chucker is crazy. It really shouldn't be possible. Most of the ultra efficient high volume scorers that have played this game either receive 1v1 attention (ISOing up), take efficient shots (and shots near the rim) and don't throw up unnecessary shots for the hell of it - let alone just launch shyt from behind-the-arc, seemingly for fun. Curry's style and the defensive attention he receives is the antithesis to being an efficient scorer. Yet not only is he efficient, but he's one of the all-time greats.

He'd still be pretty damn great. Curry's scoring ability isn't solely because of his team. They wouldn't be the best record in the league and a number one offense but Curry would be a superstar on any team. He's an elite offensive player.
Yea he's definitely elite, im just saying things are different when you can stand in the corner on offense, let someone else create or ISO, and your team still score vs having to create most of your team's offense. Everyone saw the Thunder when Russ sat during the playoffs

Russ gets his numbers his efficiency just goes down a great deal. Not like Curry is out there shytting on him when they play and holding him 8-10 points of his regular season averages.
