People just look at stats and not the context of it. He didn't play well the first 4 games and then game 5 he went off and then he appeared again towards the end of game 6.
No one remembers all of the memes with Curry face on milk cartons saying that he is missing? There is a reason for that. His team carried him through the first 3 quarters and most superstars don't have that luxury
You do realize that 99% of "memes" are created from an almost caricature standpoint and that once word of something is created (whether it be true or not), it spreads like wildfire? Do you really think that shyt has any analytical backing behind it or is it driven by a sheep mentality?
His team DID NOT carry him at any point during the Finals. This nonsense needs to stop. Sure he didn't have his best series of the playoffs, but that was mostly down to the fact that the Cavs centered their ENTIRE defense around limiting his options. Not just one or two players - their ENTIRE defense. If the Warriors actually gave the Cavs players a reason to defend them (making open shots), this entire slapstick narrative of Curry disappearing wouldn't exist.
Did it ever cross your mind that Curry was the engine behind the Warriors offense, and that this is why the role players had all those open shots? Open shots that once they hit, they started to pull away from the Cavs. Who the fukk do you think actually put them in a position to shoot wide open shots? Who the fukk do you think put them in a position to drive into the lane where there wasn't a defender in sight? You wanna talk about context of his stats - let's talk about the context behind how the Warriors actually generated their points. Let's talk about how Curry was the by far the most influential factor on offense for them throughout the entire series.
But yall nikkas don't wanna talk bout that though. Huh.
