Ive never seen a team get an insurance policy just in case somebodys ankles might age faster

Plus Durant criticized Lebron for leaving to team up with superstars,he pretty much has no choice but to stay in OKC....He's not going to have a better shot anywhere else without being a hypocrite.

Harrison Barnes is WAY more valuable to this team than Brandon Rush...playing at the 4 Rush can't do the things Barnes can over an entire season...

so they have to think.. purse a max guy like durant (who wont come over)
give him max and pray to find money for curry, bogut, iggy and the rest of the supporting cast
find a cheaper replacement

at the end of the day..the new deal will allow them to keep most of the core but someone has to take a cut

They can keep the team intact and just pay the luxury tax. Then cut salary or make moves around the core as they see fit.

Being comfortable with the people you work with goes a long way as opposed to working with someone that's good but you not that cool with them. Not saying that's the case because I heard Iggy, Steph and KD were tight at the world games a few years ago. I think its just different when you have guys you bond with and respect the pecking order. If KD comes here Steph becomes the second option.
