There was a point to him sampling Cheryl Lynn.Musically he's educating the listeners, you could've EASILY taken some obscure shyt and flipped it. He wants people to remember the contributions. Hence why the song is called "Forever" "To Be Real"

To everyone wondering, that's the purpose, the contributions of black artists not being forgotten of the marks they made. I wonder if that is the concept to the whole project this same time, the samples are paying homage to the black music icons of yesterday.
