ok, some ducktales are abound here. ive NEVER seen co-prod by D-Dot and Kanye West. D always took the pub and the full credit. Exhibit A

11.1 Poppa Was A Playa

Mixed By – Rich Travali Producer – Deric Angelettie* Recorded By – Jon Shriver Written-By – A. W. Felder*, D. Angelettie*, N. Jones*, N. R. Harris*

not a writing credit, nothing. and everyone knows Ye did Poppa Was A Player, i understand where D comes from where exec producers and producers got connections to go with music but you never gave dude a co-credit and you didnt do that beat. so maybe Ye fronted on the thank yous and whatnot, but dont make shyt up

Sometimes cats will hide you in the instrument/programming credits instead of giving you co-production or writing (pub)

all the time, and i know D-Dot's discog damn near by heart. he along with Ye were 2 of the first guys i started making producer comps for in the early 00's. ive never seen D give a co-credit to anyone that wasnt in the Bad Boy Hitmen group of producers. hes lying about that part, and you could see from the stuttered response he knew it

D dot doesn't know the meaning of ghostwriting.

People ghostwrite books on behalf of celebrities all the time. They get paid, get publishing etc. but no credit. It will be known in the industry obviously.

I'm not sure, but Kanye at least received co-production credits for everything except "Poppa Was a Playa". It seems that was more so label politics than a blatant credit theft on D. Dot's part. At the time, Nas and Jay were still beefing and Kanye produced "Takeover" so maybe Columbia just gave D. Dot the credit.

I remember first seeing Kanye's name in the credits specifically Jermaine Dupri's Life In 1472. I think booklets to other albums that Kanye had production on mis-spelled his name as "Kayne" instead of "Kanye".

Yeah, I remember Kanye's name popping up on credits as early as the JD album, so he def. was being credited back then. Now if he got credited for EVERYTHING is another story.

I've always found this issue to be kinda petty, but I see how it came to this point where there's still a discrepancy.
