Who had the sadder career? Both guys were on top of the world, both focal points of the offense. All over TV, jerseys and shoes were flying off the rack. Then... SNAP, CRACKLE, POP. It was over. Honestly, I think both guys would be ringed up at least once if not for injury. Who do you feel worse for???

D Rose might be a slight more upsetting just cuz it's happened a few times to him and it just got worse and worse each time.

And I don’t feel bad for Penny he’s still a legend to most to this day.

Rose is being forgotten and he’s still in the league and somewhat young.

I was a Penny stan, still am so of course I'm gonna say he had the better overall upside as a passer and a relatively decent shooter (at least in 95 when Shaq cleared he floor and had shots for Nick, Dennis and him) but D Rose was a much aggressive scoerer and I think we at least saw D Rose maximise his potential that MVP year

I think the sad part for Penny was, we never truly got to see him be the main scorer/leading man for a whole year. Yeah he had the time at the start of the 95 -96 season but after Shaq left it wasnt just the injures but he came back and deferred the ball a bit as the point man. Only time he really took over was when shyt was dire and he had no other choice but to put the team on his back (See the 97 first round playoffs after the 1st quarter of game 3), next year he was switched to Shooting guard and had a couple of strong opening games but was out with the injury for the entire year then came back the next year at point and deferred the ball to Nick and Darrell fukking Armstrong.

So its probably a bit more worse for Penny because he had to battle not only injuries but had to be more confident which probably would have come after 5 or 6 years in the league health develop his defense and confidence to score on people (Post game was supremely underrated as a 6'7 guard in those days)

Same shyt happened with Penny by the early 00s

Nostalgia for the 90s, kids like me who had him as their first serious fav player and the shoes helped him have this good nostalgic spot than what we got to see.

Young breh so never got to see Penny in real time but based off what I've seen he has to be my favourite player

D Rose was an absolute athletic monster but we saw enough of his greatness

Penny was a serious problem:mjcry:
