Remember how the coli swore the T-Wolves was gonna tear it up this year? Them fools picking top 10 for the 6th time in the last 8 years. Quick someone tell me how many playoff series they have won during that time with all those assets

In 2007, after losing their franchise player Kevin Garnet to the Celtics, the Timberwolves spent the season tanking, going 22-60.
With the
3rd pick in the 2008 draft, the Timberwolves selected O.J. Mayo.

In hindsight, they made the right decision because a few moments later, they traded away O.J. Mayo for a man named
Kevin Wesley Love who was selected
5th by the Memphis Grizzlies.
But like most crappy organizations that subscribe to tanking do, they had no idea how to win and thought that they could just lean on their one franchise player to carry the team and just have it work. If they have a poor record, they'll be in good position to take another franchise player they thought
So the season records over the next few years ended up looking like:
- 2008: 24-58
- 2009: 15-67
- 2010: 17-65
- 2011: 26-40
- 2012: 31-51
- 2013: 40-42
- 2014: 16-66
- 2015: 29-53
- 2016: 31-51

They failed to even reach treadmill status since 2008, but managed to reach elliptical status.
So they blamed and continue to blame coach after coach for their lack of success. In fact, the last time they reached treadmill status was
Dwyane Wade's rookie year. 03-04

Since that time span, the Miami Heat has won 3 championships doing it their way - by stealing players from tanking and dysfunctional franchises

.
Which franchise philosophy would you choose to go with?
