How many game changing free agents leave though at or near their peak? We don't exactly have a great track record on the draft board either. Mario chalmers is arguably our best draft pick since 2004

Stop it, We drafted two players better than Chalmers in 2015 and our track record of developing undrafted talent is straight.

Whiteside's meteoric rise is a story almost like none other in the NBA. Not even two years later, he's got a max deal.

His game, he said, doesn't mimic one past player. He's taking pieces from several.

"I wanted to take Hakeem's shot-blocking abilities," Whiteside said. "I wanted to take Kevin Garnett's face-up jumper. I wanted to take Tim Duncan's bank shot. I wanted to take Kobe Bryant's work ethic. And Shaq's aggressiveness."

He honestly thought he had a shot at durant and was going to move dragic in order to keep wade. Dumb as fuk but thats what he thought in his dream world

We wouldn't be able to put together a package for him that didnt include Winslow and Riley isn't making that deal. I wouldnt either, if LMA was a free agent that's one thing but I'm not gutting the young core for a 31 year old that hasn't proven to be a championship player. Should've taken the godfather's advice and signed that 1+1 last summer.

But according to the article it seems like the Celtics have the inside track because Spurs want picks. High ones

A frond court of LMA and WhiteSide and Winslow would be dope if we could fit it under the cap. LMA has one hell of a post game but can also go out to the elbows like Bosh when Whiteside needs some low-post love. Winslow is still trying to find his offensive game anyway

oh yea, I agree. It would only be possible if Bosh was medically cleared and the Spurs wanted to swap them 2. Dragic and fillers works financially but outside of being a Euro I dont think he's Pops kind of pg.
