I went back and played her first album recently and it still holds up well. Da Brat doesn’t get the props she deserves. First female rapper to go platinum. Yeah she might’ve took from Snoop but it’s not like she was faking who she was. Da Brat was a weed head and rough around the edges just like Snoop. JD used the Death Row template and crafted the album around that sound.

There’s way more wacker broads that rapped than Da Brat.

When a carbon copy can come out and do well thats when I knew the golden era was OVER

1993/1994 is when nikkas started breaking all the rules and acting like shyt was cool

Up until 1992 you had to be original

1993 EVERYBODY 'hardcore'

1994 EVERYBODY using the same samples back to back to back

Everybody sounding alike

chick from chi-town w/ a producer from the south
sounding str8 west coast they would have gotten laughed out the game just a few years earlier.....

I see that Brat shyt on the box and was like between the sheets? AGAIN? click"

JD shyt to me always sounded overproduced and off brand him and puffy fukked the game up musically on multiple levels

Yeah.

This is why I could never really respect JD as a producer because he’s always followed whatever was popular and just copied everyone else’s style

I had the biggest crush on Da Brat back then. When she came out with Tyrese and my tongue dropped. I wanted that woman so bad.

:bryan:

Now she flabby and carry a bluetooth dildo.
