Da Brat has lost a lawsuit from a former NFL cheerleader that the rapper violently assaulted with a bottle in an Atlanta nightclub in 2007. TMZ reports that Brat--real name Shawntae Harris--was ordered by the jury in the lawsuit to pay $3.7 million in damages and an additional $2.7 in punative damages to ex-Falcons cheerleader Shayla Stevens.
Brat pled guilty to aggravated assault and did three years in prison for it. Stevens sued him in 2009, while he was still in jail. The trial had run into problems on Wednesday when a juror acknowledged that he wasn't a U.S. citizen, but the new jury met and reached the verdict today. Brat was found responsible for Stevens' permanent facial scarring, neurological impairment, and severe mental pain.
