there are a lot of reason's its net zero but including the fact that amnesty did not look likely, but if they pass amnesty then people will know that if they sneak in the next day and stay for 20 years they will get amnesty in 2030
and also the other issue is that amnesty causes chain migration, if the 11 million become citizens they can bring other people with their families, that is how hispanics became the largest minority, and that was with just 3 million people, imagine what happens when you legalize 11 million
Okay point taken but do you think the security being the highest it has ever been with the lowest chance of getting by.....that they would all of a sudden start getting weaker again?
And I don't think people are realizing that there were some differences with the 1986 "amnesty" people love to talk about. Now that I think about it I think the amnesty then was the 1986 version of "Deferred action" in June 2012.
I think you are comparing 86 and now way too much. In the case of today, with the security and everything being more advanced and stronger.....since this time the "illegals" all it would take is for them to sponsor for their families......since now they have no chance but to do that since the government is gonna do the right thing with "comprehensive immigration reform" and make sure its extremely secured.
So this time around students and young people will have no choice but to just sponsor for their family if they want them to be with them.
