Dak does not have a fukking cannon for an arm :dead:

He has no fukking deep ball and constantly throws ugly flutter balls when asked to throw past 6 or 7 yards

Nah, he's got arm strength...just no touch. That's why his receivers drop his passes when he puts it right on them. Dude is really inaccurate at times and his footwork sucks. Half of his picks are WR's batting the ball in the air because it gets on them too fast.

Maybe he zips in those checkdown passes but he absolutely does not have arm strength or velocity on mid to deep throws.

Since I'm born and raised here...gotta give my local impressions:

Dak - good kid. Got beat up at spring break a few years ago but he was just trying to break up a fight. This Air Coryell offense won't work with his skill set. He'd be better in a West Coast offense...kinda like McNabb. He's got a cannon which is why T-Will and Dez drop easy passes even when Dakota puts in right in their face. They got used to TR9 flutter balls. Dak doesn't have touch..needs to work on that along with inconsistent footwork and slow decision making.

Dez - same player he was when he came into the league...well same weaknesses. Strong hands but will drop easy ones. Good at jump-balls and 50/50 situations but will stop on routes (see Raiders game when NaVorro Bowman scared him off his route) and he runs sloppy patterns outside of the 9-route. This offense requires precision and he doesn't have that crisp attention to detail like Michael Irvin did. Aikman would probably have choked Bryant out by now.

Jerral Wayne Jones - his son Stephen and Will McClay got way more football smarts than Jerry. Pretty much every good player we've gotten has been because of those two not so much Jerruh.

Romo - younger fans overrate him because they didn't see Aikman play. Romo could ball, but he had too much Favre in him. Beasley was wide the fcuk open in the middle of the field during that 2014 playoff game at Green Bay. Instead of throwing it to Cole, he throws the deep ball to Dez. He sat for 3.5 years and had Sean Payton developing him before SP went to the Saints. Guarantee if Dak got 3 years of Sean Payton coaching, he'd be waaaay better.

Aikman - surprised at how close Romo is with Jerry compared to Aikman. Aikman deep down knew that Jerry was all ego and didn't give shyt about winning. Even though he was the #1 overall pick, SB MVP, 3-time SB champ and HOF, who does Jerry have attending his family functions and vacations? Romo.
Romo Gad too much farve in him early in his career. Not later in his career. You overrate bearing open in 2014.

True....but he can survive if he cleans up the rest of his game (processing information, consistent technique etc). I put that on the coaches and Jerry. Garrett hasn't proven anything as a coach and he's never developed anyone. Bill Parcells and Sean Payton developed Romo. Garrett would have been fired a long time ago if he didn't have Romo making the team at least look decent.

That's from last year. A lot of players were low-key shading Romo anonymously because they felt Dak could more easily relate to the brothas on the team. Dak is from rural Louisiana and he's half-white, so he can relate to the Jason Witten's and Travis Frederick's but he can also vibe with a Zeke or Tyron Smith. Romo was Jerry's boy 100%. Younger players probably didn't feel as comfortable around him because Jerry, Garrett and Romo were tight.

Of course if Dak doesn't get his shyt together....it won't matter.

Seems like he let the fame get to him from last season. I saw an article about how he was raking up all this endorsement money over the off season back in the beginning of the season.

He won't ever be as good as Carson but he can get better if he makes and effort this off season. Call up receivers for some throwing sessions, work on the footwork, learn to read defenses better, etc.

Cole had a 3-yd cushion on the slant. Witten was being doubled though, and I'm guessing Tony was thinking "it's either Dez or J-Witt."
