How do you know "Dame just put his name on there" ? Kanye tell you this ?

Dame said he hasn't done business with Kanye but wants to. If he hasn't done business with Kanye, how is Kanye an exec producer of the show? Also based on the quality of the show - well, completely lack thereof - do you honestly think Kanye would attach his name to that shyt?

It's obvious Ye just gave him some money to fund the movie because he felt bad for him. I'm sure deep down he feels like he owes Dame in some respect for putting him on and probably felt bad to see his toothless flabby n sick ass out there looking like someone's drunk, lost uncle.

Kanye didn't fund anything. In the Sway interview, he said he asked Kanye to do for him what he did for Kanye, cosign him; use his name/platform as one of the world's most famous people to give his product a boost.

I bet he talked mad game to his random "art gallery" thots about this venture "I'm in the oil business now"

:francis:

i know nikkas love to clown but my mans from Cali pops started his own "motor oil" business back in the 1970s and now hes a millionaire and giving his grown ass son houses to live in and cars to drive and will eventually pass on all his businesses to his son

I applaud his pops for that sh1t, we all should aspire to do sh1t like that, u clock in everyday for 40 years and can't pass down any of the stake u put in that company to your kids and grandkids. Black ppl have no generational wealth because we spend so much time helping build other peoples companies and success, invest in your OWN

It's a shame how we clown black business yet wake up running to work for Mr. Charlie everyday

No.

We're clowning Dame because he's a loudmouth has-been who burnt every bridge he ever made eye contact with.

This movie he put out is cold garbage. It's the same old stereotypical street hustler bulllshyt that's been done before and done much better. I've seen student films with better production values.

He couldn't even humble himself NOT to appear in his own movie.

So chill with that "crabs in a bucket" blanket statement. Dame Dash just isn't a good businessman, period.

Oh so you mean he is following the same formula he used to get rich/famous in the first place?

Just be honest man... yall mad cause he took a dump on the way most of people choose to live their lives, safe and submissive. Being humble has never gotten anybody anything in America. We always love the loud, brash, arrogant character that isn't afraid to be ignorant to get their point across...

so this is like a modern streets is watching?

Can't lie I've never seen that but I wasnt
expecting paid in full(classic flick) but at least near paper soldiers or state property. Not close to any of those, the way he shot it makes it hard to even follow the story. There's 11 minute episodes and there's some episodes that have like two minutes or less of dialogue. None of the characters stick out really and it's mostly just mindless killing way more than his previous movies.

Not really....this shyt was announced back in February. And even before then it was called a "secret project" that was in the works

It is interesting to see what this reunion of Dame Dash and Kanye is going to produce. Dash has a great technical sense of producing and directing projects combined with Kanye’s creativity and reach should ensure success.

Chances are though you are right about one thing. Dame probably has this project in the works before Kanye co-signed. And "Executive Producer" titles are usually gifts to people who bring in the money and/or credibility to a project.

If this project really did start production in February and they are already pushing it out...with that fast of a turnaround it probably is :trash:

I admit Dame has fallen off due to his own arrogance :francis:
But he did make Kanye a star :lawd:
He definitely made Jay Z a star:lawd:
Kudos to all of these brothers :salute:
These record labels don't give a fuk about poor people :obama:

The world doesn't give a fuk about poor people :obama:
These dudes provide jobs and inspiration to those who come from nothing :ohlawd:
Jay Z and Damon Dash's brand grew apart because Dame got caught up in being famous...that's what ended The Roc :flabbynsick:
His human flaws took a toll on the business :flabbynsick:
But I wouldnt say he is a bad businessman :stopitslime:
He still has that hustler mentality of buy for 1 sell for 2 :blessed:
I would advise him to try and reinvent himself, be more humble, and think more outside of the box :lupe:
I haven't seen the movie yet...hopefully it's not that bad :sadcam:
