Never invest in someone's "business" or a business idea that they have unless you are 150% certain you will see a profit from it, because then the return on your investment depends solely on the success of that business, it's too risky. Someone asks you to invest 100k in their new refrigeration business for some ownership in it, you do it, then the business falls thru and they tell you since the business blew up that the money is gone.
