Will Smith will be back in the mainstream. His disgression was more about affecting the so called prestige of the oscars/academy. Overall he is not seen as a toxic figure, there is no line of people to tell their Will Smith horror story of being whopped on a set in 98. He might actually have a bit of a renaissance and do some of his best work in the coming years.

A lot of businessmen are just scammers/hustlers. Dame did some good and people have stories about him looking out for them. He had a team, fought for them, and burnt some bridges because of it. Once Jay was gone, people didn't have to deal with him anymore and a lot of doors were probably closed to him.

There are stories that he snaked some people too. I always looked at Dame as a hustler. If he was more strategic and had a better reputation, he would be great in artist management. That would probably have been a step down after Rocafella though.
