I used to feel like that. Forever and loyalty are flimsy terms when money is apart of the equation. There are a lot of "brothers" who end up with a bullet in their brain over how those dollars are circulating.
Connects and networking is key in business. All those interns, low level pr reps, photographers assistants, ad execs in training, mail room clerks at the label, a&r cats - who probably got screamed on by Dame - had all advanced in their career by now and remember that shyt. They are the gatekeepers and greenlighters on top now. People dont forget when they got shytted on. When it comes time for a favor, you think somebody like Kevin Lyles is gonna help out Dame? They sitting back now like
They only had to deal with Dame bc he had Jay - the golden goose. Now that Jay is dolo, Dame gotta start from scratch with few allies in the industry. There's some ppl in this world that when shyt gets turbulent, they have nikkas who reach out and look out for them. I aint saying somebody is gonna pay his child support for him lol but at least they would introduce him to some new income generating endeavors.

Dame's attitude did it to him. All this "cakeaholic", "lifestyle" imagery he was puttin' out forced him to carry on financial charades. Instead of having all these heavily mortgaged luxury homes with no equity, he should have bought 1 or 2 decent houses cash, if something happens, he has an asset. Not to mention he sold his end of Roc-a-wear for cheap. With that said, he still got 20-30Ms out that from what I remember, and he still went broke?

The system really is messed up. How does Rachel Roy accept money from Dame? He's nearly broke, and why does he have to pay so damn much. Kids aren't that expensive.
