for some reason i still think he can bounce back somehow. That hustle, while overshadowed by his a$$hole persona, isn't normal and eventually i think ittl create revenue for him.

BROKE And Facing JAIL TIME, Dame Dash Goes To Jay Z For A LOAN!! - Mediafakeout.com™ 2013

ntil a few weeks ago, when Dame learned that he would have to cough up close to $5M in back taxes or face time in jail (Two of the numerous warrants against Dash for tax evasion are below).

Mediafakeout.com spoke with someone claiming to be familiar with Dash's finances. And that person claims that Dame's lawyers negotiated a plea deal with NY and NJ officials which would have Dash pay close to $5M in back taxes and penalties. The insider explains, "Damon [Dash] is facing a criminal investigation for tax evasion. [They] wanted to send him to jail, but his lawyers managed to get a deal [whereby Dame] paid back the taxes he owed."

The one problem with the deal was - Dame didn't have $5M in cash on hand. So the former RocaFella mogul asked for help from the unlikeliest of sources - his former partner Jay Z.

The insider tells Mediafakeout.com, "Damon reached out to Jay Z - and without blinking an eye, Jay Z agreed to help him ... It took a lot for [Dame] to reach out to [Jay Z] like that. But it took even more for [Jay Z] to give him the money." The insider added, "They may have had they're problems in the past, but they're like brothers - and [Jay Z] wasn't about to let his brother go to prison."

Good lord what a waste of time this interview was for me. Between the annoying arguing with the dweeby, mouth-breathing Just Blaze & Dame talking about how different/smart/creative he is...it was like Jack just had to egg him on for the sake of the interview.

He's pretty much saying that Jay-Z and Diddy are corny for rolling in maybachs & still being in the music biz after 35...and that he was dying to get out of the music biz?? Oh really? As if he wasnt trying to make Jim Jones the next big solo star a few years ago, but then that fell apart after Jay-Z put that on smash from the background?

What happened to Armadale? It's corny now because you failed at it huh? Meanwhile, Diddy has almost doubled his worth through Ciroc. Dusse hasn't been out for a year & already has as much low as Armadale did back then.

Divorce with Rachael Roy was great & all love...but he can't talk about it & the tabloids say otherwise anyway regarding the alimony & back pay he owes her for the fashion business.

The guy is delusional & I don't feel sympathy for people like him, who swear they got it when all obvious signs/documents say otherwise...and are too proud to admit the L you've taken.

:heh: @ this man trying to make us believe he wasn't sent into music biz exile & has willingly been in big money trouble for years because "when he gets $20MM, he throws it right back into the street." #stfu for once bruh.

He might have to resort to bringing back out his dancing, and take it to NYC streets.

Dame burned too many bridges. He burned his biggest with Jay, of course. But how he treated Kevin Liles, Lyor Cohen, Steve Stoute, etc.

You burn bridges like that, then it'll lead you on a path to nowhere

I dont really look up to people in entertainment.. But Steve Stoute?? I think the dude is brilliant. I think he's somebody who really has that IT quality:salute:

He's a real businessman

Though he's saddled with legal troubles, hip-hop mogul Damon Dash says he's still hustling and vows to pay his mountain of debt - NY Daily News

Hip-hop mogul Damon Dash may be facing a mountain of legal troubles, but he’s not letting deep debt throw him off his game, he told the Daily News in an exclusive interview.

“I can’t touch my money. I can’t pay certain bills,” Dash said in a wide-ranging talk on Saturday. “But I’m still working every day. It’s not stopping me from hustling. I am an entrepreneur. I am real.”

Dash, 42, vowed to pay back more than $100,000 he owes on a sprawling mansion in suburban Putnam County.

He said he moved out at the end of March because he couldn’t take the frigid weather — but he also faces eviction, according to court documents he filed Tuesday.

“I’m in transition. I’ve been moving around on business,” he said. “It’s too cold to be upstate in the wintertime.”

The woman who said she rented out the luxurious Golf Ridge Road, Carmel, home to Dash said he left on amicable, but indebted, terms — $160,000 in back rent.

“He’s a nice person,” said Shlomit Schonberger. “He just doesn’t have money. He’s very talented and friendly. I hope he makes it.”

Schonberger said Dash, who lived in the house for about three years, left a massive landscape portrait on the mantel.

“That's Damon’s,” she said, pointing to the painting. “He said he will come get it someday.”

Dash, who partnered with platinum-selling rapper Jay-Z in Roc-A-Fella Records and the Rocawear clothing business ventures, said lengthy legal battles and massive tax debt have kept him in the red for years — but he’s good for the cash.

“As soon as I get the money, I’ll pay it back,” he promised. “It doesn’t mean they’re going to get paid immediately, but I’m gonna try to figure it out.”

He appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday to fight a charge of ignoring a 2008 lawsuit from a garment industry lender who sought payback for a $237,078 loan, but Dash says he was never served papers for it.

“It caught me off guard,” he told The News. “I have no credit, and no one’s trying to help me, so I’m trying to do everything on my own.”

Dash, who once reigned over a $50 million empire, said he has renounced the hustling hip-hop lifestyle. “I’m not a rapper and will never be a hip-hop mogul again,” said the father of four. “I’m 42. That would be a midlife crisis — that wouldn’t be a comeback.”

According to court documents, Dash also owes more than $2 million in taxes to New York State.

“I don’t ever remember not having problems, but it’s a game that I choose to play,” he said.
