lets be reality. in the early 2000's, dude was destined to blow with or without the roc simply because of all the quality production he was putting out. He was gonna release his own album just off that alone. and we all know he had plenty of hot beats back then.

Dame is gonna be :rip: status pretty soon
Wat scares me is how the hip hop community would respond to such an event

I don't think the hip hop community would honor his life or celebrate his death, if u catch my drift.

I also dont think he will leave anywhere near the kind of legacy he hoped for.

no its not. and kweli was moving the same units beforehand.

and lol @ kanye breaking mos def into the mainstream. mos def was doing movies before the public even knew who kanye west was. chit, mos def was on television way back when in the '90s before he himself even made any music.

:usure:

actually just blaze was producing big hits outside of rocafella before kanye.

Kweli never had a hit without Kanye his only hit is Get By, Mos Def has never had a hit record

Name the big Just Blaze records outside of the Roc before Kanye

Like what? He wasn't doing big singles for Alicia Keys n 2003 just stop it

He had a track on Usher's confessions which wasn't a single, thats 2004

i dont follow singles charts. i could care less. i know kweli & mos def had rap hits, and were selling the same records before kanye. and i dont even recall mos def having a single produced by kanye. so i dont even understand your basis.

just blaze wasnt doing singles for alicia keys but he was doing singles for mariah f*ckin carey. his 1st hit wasnt even with the roc. it was with harlem world. do your homework on just blaze. he has a long list of credit. and '02-03(rocafella's prime) were his big breakout years - before kanye broke out.(oh and he did do songs with janet jackson by '04, since you wanted to yap about kanye doing it).

its easy to overlook it since he wasnt holding a mic, but blaze was all over the place during the roc era, on the low. from making hits for fabolous & both of budden's singles to joints with def squad, terror squad & flipmode squad to mariah carey, nick cannon, mario, chingy & snoop dogg.

do you not remember him being the main attraction on that nba live '03 soundtrack? how about him producing that song on jada's debut where darn near the whole ruff ryders ended up dissin rocafella while just blaze was on the roc. hell, i didnt even know he produced that chit so i wont even hold that one against you.

Once again you haven't name one goddamn song, that song he did for mariah carey was not a hit record and that was in 2003, the same year Kanye did You Don't know My name for Alicia Keys
HE WAS THE BIGGER PROUCER

i didnt know i had to list the songs. i wasnt aware that this was a remedial board.

surely if i say buddens' 2 singles, "pump it up" should ring a bell. and so on.

the mariah song wasnt a hit now? okay.

ye would have never sold a thing or had any drsw.
if, he was not the black urban emo artist who was not on rocafella.
ye, got his draw because the hiphopinfinity movement wanted a black artist to make emo.
who was on the only sellout label they gave a pass to.
as well, as any and every black person who wanted to support emo.
yet, were not going to buy it unless it was jiggy rocafella cool.
not to mention, ye was not going to draw, or get green lit by rocafella.
till, the slug distro major label deal was made as well.
ye, owes everything to be associated/signed to rocafella

yea, and dont forget the r&b crowd. especially the neo-soul regime.

all these bases were drooling in anticipation for that kanye LP the moment he received validation.

Sad shyt that the likes of Hov will do anything to make people forget about Dame's life and accomplishments.

Until his name pops up in the media, and makes any attempt to take attention away from Dame.

When Dame Dash passes, only a handful will understand the impact he has had in the rap game.
Dame has literally been all over the internet.... what has Jay done to try and block him?

Yes,too many. This is why Eminem is to be commended for the hard work and his continual grind.shyt,he didn't sign with Interscope until he was in his late 20's.

i think youre missing the point.

that eminem from unsigned hype wouldnt have had half his success had he not signed to aftermath.

Half of his success is 40-50 million records.
