It is what it is. Like I asked Joie, I wonder why no one grooms Black execs to grow and have power, but there's mad white being groomed for the future. Nepotism? A more intricate conspiracy? White self preservation? I dunno. I know I don't like it.

I've had the fortune/misfortune of working in a few different industries, and this is a consistent aspect of things.

Black people and the art blacks produce seem to exist mostly as a really nice, antique end table at a cocktail party: ornamental, a conversation piece at best, confirmation of a false notion whites have of their collective taste and broadmindedness, something to be discussed in passing without being taken too seriously. Most importantly, an end table has no voice with which to speak up and ruin the fukking cocktail party. Because what fun would that be?

I have to admit I skipped this entire Dame saga, because he kind of makes my skin crawl. I had close friends working with the youth basketball team he used to sponsor - young hood kids who had very little in their lives - and he cut off their funding with no warning nor acknowledgment and robbed them of the promised opportunity to travel to tournaments. Some of the dudes working with these kids came out of pocket to cover as many travel expenses as possible, because, you know, these were poor kids having their dreams dashed on the rocks of reality.

In general, as someone with family in the rap game, who grew up in the midst of all this, your podcast is usually a must-listen, and I'm impressed to see you interacting with your listeners.

Peace.

By the way, @CombatJack I decided to check out this episode and your podcast in the iTunes store isn't available worldwide.. it's tied to the US store. Just FYI cause it could be a configuration/settings thing your team may have overlooked.

Appreciate you stopping by the Coli to respond to us!

@CombatJack, thank you for providing an outlet for 90s kids, to hear the builders of the game layout their blueprint:salute:

Will you ever do interviews with the likes of Power from Wu, Ghostface, Alchemist, Hype Williams:feedme:

...and Dame Dummy is a casebook study on what happens when Larry Holmes Garden let residents raid the Old Belvedere case:pachaha:

This. Everything Dame said was actually true.

yup...im always in Combat Jack Show threads biggin them up but it is what it is...I think Dame is right about this situation but he's hypocrite when it comes to certain things too
I guess we're both cryptic because we both really don't know what happened. At least I don't. But that's what friends do, they don't necessarily owe each other an explanation and such. It'll happen when it happens.
I think both of ya'll just want the podcast to go in different directions...Dallas wants ya'll to interview the dude that makes the sandwiches at the bodega and people that we know nothing about just because it interests him and you want to interview people who've made a name for themselves and are already established in the game...thats just my theory...but even when ya'll would interview people without a name in the past he would still leave the show so I cant call it lol

I'm writing because ya'll have supported me over the past few years.

1. Joie called me and asked to be on the show. He said he wanted a platform to talk. I personally didn't know Joie at all, didn't know what to expect, and assumed most of my listeners didn't as well, so I thought it would be fair to at least get dude's background story before we addressed the current events. It was all very awkward, but yeah, it was, in my mind, a perfect follow up to Dame. And what better way to send a message that my show is a platform to all execs to appear on as well as artists and such?

2. Dame wanted me to set up a debate. Joie didn't want that. At a certain point I had to decided whether I was going to have Joie on as a guest or not, because of Damon. When I thought about it, i decided to have Joie on, after all, it is MY show, not Dame's, not anyone else's.

3. I set my interview in two parts a) who is Joie and b) whats up with the "culture vulture" shyt, Chief Keef, Trinidad James, Black execs in the game, etc.

4. Joie was nervous, but he was a good dancer. And so was Dame. Both of them tapped danced. Both of them. Ya'll mad at me because Joie did the salsa but Dame did the merengue? Stop it 5.

5. My show is not for me to air Negus out, it's to give them a platform. I did that with both parties. Not all my interviews are home runs. Joie is more of a behind the scenes exec who is every guarded. I tried to get more but he played it tight. And Damon Dash is a very hard act to follow. The fukk else ya'll wanted me to do?

6. My ad dollars are extremely meager and I'm not at all tf censored. Basically, I make $ to pay for studio time. Basically, I don't get paid. The most I ever made, take home, from this show was around $54.00. #FactsOnly. Joie will never do me a favor, so I don't see the sell out angle. To this day I get pressure from wifey AND the kids as to why I stay doing this shyt for no pay. But I love the history I get to hear first hand. I'm a FAN first of most of my guests. Too many Negus too cool to call themselves fans these days. But if that gets ya'll amped to paint me the bad guy over night, ya'll can rock with that to make ya'll sleep good and make ya'll feel better about yourselves.

7. I called Dame the day b4 I dropped the episode. I have never done this with anyone else. But I respect Dame. And I knew he would have a temper tantrum if I didn't at least try. Said let's figure out a "win/win" because I didn't see why he should be upset. He wanted to stay upset and said when I drop the ep he'd expose to the world the type of cat I was. So he was on some emotional vengeful "wait til i pay you back shyt". Cool I'm a grown ass man dawg. I tried. I wished him the best and kept it moving. This shyt right here is the COMBAT JACK SHOW! Not Dames, not corporate America's, not anyone else's.

8. Ya'll Negus talk about how I should change my name but I guess ya'll aint see how I've been battling with Ebro and Hot 97 about how they dissed our culture by dissing Chuck and with they other lil corny jokes and such on social media. So yeah, call me PC Jack for giving EVERYONE on my show a fair show and giving YOU an opportunity to decide what type of cats my guests are. I woke up Friday with a text from Dame calling me a "sellout" at the same time Hot 97's morning show was insinuating I was an anti-semite. i had to laugh at the insanity of being called out on being on both sides of the spectrum. But that's the life of being "PC Jack".

9. Dallas stopped coming to the show. He's a fukking genius and I love that man as a brother. But this is the 4th time in 4 years he decided to stop coming. He's a grown ass man too, so I respect whatever moves he makes, but I gots to keep this ship here moving. Pete stayed riding. But DP and even Just Blaze will be team members of this shyt for life. Ain't no backstory to this.

10. That about it. i love this forum and stay lurking. But some of ya'll really started talking extra loose. That's cool though, thats what these Internets is for.

Salutes king. You did exactly what you should have done with that interview. Kept it professional, hit him with real questions, pressed when he danced and backed off when it was obvious he wasn't going to be 100. Don't let this bullshyt discourage you fam. shyt, I was just thinkin about how we gonna need more episodes per week out of you.

Combat Jack, which side of the fence do you see yourself on?

For the establishment or against it?
