Exactly,if you can find Dames faults that just means you should see where he went wrong at....Obviously his mentality might not be practical for everybody and everybody don't have the goal,will,guts or money to be a boss....But truth is there are plenty of black people,especially in the industry that Dame is from that haven't had ambitionz to be they own bosses for the 30 years that hiphop has existed,and who haven't cared about owning anything but chains and cars
...To hear a black man talk about having pride in owning things he can pass down to his kids and having self belief on this platform

props to dame for thinking outside of the box with this one, tired of these rap entrepreneurs coming with clothes and liquor. dame needs to come to the westcoast with this. its almost counterproductive to advertise oil in an area where most of your base is using public transportation. also, its pricey for conventional motor oil. hell, the synthetic i buy doesn't even cost that much. this is what i hate about black business. no real access to resources, so we've gotta damn near rip eachother off, just to keep it black.

well yea…thats when you gotta wise up.bruh its people out here who get a job 16$ a hour and think they life is set and never even attempt to advance or get real security. Work for somebody for 15 years then they decide to get rid of you for whatever reason and now yo life in turmoil. Me and my cousins was independent contractors doing wiring for chrysler years ago and they sent us down to the Hyundai plant in alabama which didn't have a union. It was sickening to see how scared and terrified those workers was of the bosses. Cant do or say nothin out of line in fear of getting fired.

People get stuck in their zone and don't realize how much they can do…or even realize how much money they can make with just a little more risk (I don't even consider it a risk).
I try to tell some of my guys…but they would rather make excuses and not use their brain.

I can't imagine what I'd do if I went to get my oil changed and the guy offered to put Dash Motor oil in my car (pause).
Dame really really really needs to stop putting DASH on his products, even Cam'ron in his Breakfast CLub interview was keen enough to realize people will hate on it just to be spiteful so it's just better business to own it anonymously. Dame products are already doomed to fail because of the name, all this talk about "I hustle for my last name" is all well and good but if your last name is shyt in these consumer streets what difference does it make?
If I took my car to the dealership for an oil change and looked up at my sticker afterwards and it said "Dash Motor Oil", I'd raise mass amounts of hell.
It's not hate, it's a critique at a time where he's being applauded as some sort of financial/business guru while doing stupid shyt like slapping his name on a bottle of motor oil
That Jay line about "food and beverage" rings so fukking true when you watch how he moves and the things that he says. He's more worried about having his name on the bottle than actually competing with other companies who sell the shyt.
Name recognition only works when your name isn't shyt.
Seems like the logical thing to do would to buy/create the company that makes the sanitary napkins (or the motor oil) and play the background.

Nothing is wrong with selling motor oil, it's the way he's doing it and how it looks in light of his recent interviews where he's shytting on people who have day jobs and telling nikkas to buy cars they can't afford along with other questionable financial advice.

honestly bruh I dont know any of those type of people.Only people I know that make real money are the ones that work for themselves. Own some tow trucks or a big rig or got a home improvement company or a collision shop or own multiple apartment buildings.
But if somebody lose that 6 figure job will they be straight if they cant find another one. What happens if they have to take a helluva pay cut. I knew a cat back in the day that did mortgages and sold houses. He was the man getting so much business they gave him his own building offsite, but he still worked for them. Fast forward a few years and he got fired homeboy was done. The cars and bad bytches and vacations was over with. Now what he shouldve been doing was setting up his own operation instead of living off that job.

Well its funny cause this is some of the sh*t that brought down Dame Dash. He should look in the mirror and give himself that same speech he gave everyone else on that interview. The real sh*t he said is cool but it was nothing more than a Thot posting a inspirational quote on Instagram cause they don't practice what they preach. The nicca bring up all this sh*t about what a 'real man' would do and act then he falls back and says how when he tried to get at Spike Lee once but Spike curved him something serious. So which one is it? You can't claim be a businessman- then sh*t on the common man that's going to buy your product or services but on the flipside people don't even want to be in the same room with you much less have a sit down or even take a phone call from you. That's a false prophet breh. Even if he ain't ballin' no more at least stay consistent with the message he's trying to relay. You don't see the error in slapping "dash" on a private/white label product and overcharging for it?
For someone who's business/financial woes have largely come about from them wanting to be at the center of attention, It looks pretty stupid.
The bold is something I talk about often to the young cats that I mentor and help support. I encourage people to turn their hobbies in to income streams, to look around at the elements of their life that they enjoy and do them in a way that can get em paid but I don't question their manhood or their value as people even if they find themselves to be content with being in the work force.
