He's one of the better [versatile] defenders in the league. He's found his niche on that end of the floor.

This is the reason why Dame wants him:

I know he’s one of the best defenders in the league, but offensively he’s pretty much useless, he’s too inconsistent. Where are they gonna find offense if Dame is off and the second best player is only a defensive stopper?

Dame is a twenty something female on Love and Hip Hop

He’s like one of these hoes on Instagram that have like 500 followers and call themselves “influencers”

Disgusting

I think the issue is that they don’t bring in black coaches until they need a hail mary miracle and the organization is in disfunction. By that time the star player(s) are already fed up and don’t have trust in the front office either want out or want the entire team reupholstered.

Its obvious that Lillard has been close to reaching his breaking point for the past two seasons. He’s not some c00n who wants to sabotage Billups, he’s frustrated and has been standing on his “I don’t want to be traded” soap box for so long that he probably feels boxed in and doesn’t want to look like a hypocrite.
That’s the case in this situation, but not always. Dwayne Casey, Lionel Hollins, Sam Mitchell, Mark Jackson :mindblown:

I’m probably missing more. To me the players don’t fight hard enough to keep black coaches around. They’d rather have some mediocre Cac like Brad Stevens or Terry Scott’s that won’t hold them accountable and they can kinda manipulate, like Steve Nash in BK.

Judging by that tweet, Dame's more focused on recruiting a player that can help change the team's identity on the defensive end. Anything offensively is merely a bonus. Besides, Gordon can do a little bit of everything on offense; a 'jack of all trades, master of none'. He's essentially a diet version of Ben Simmons. And even though Denver won't be giving him up anytime soon, that's the type of player Portland should be looking to get.

They simply don't have the assets to trade for someone who's a "defensive stopper" on top of being a second-option on offense. Realistically, how many players of that description exist in the league that teams would be willing to part with?

that’s why trying to retool this team is dumb. They’ve reached their ceiling. Portland is basically stuck though, no picks and McCollum’s contract isn’t desirable for the type of player he is. They’d be jogging in place with any trade they do including Ben Simmons. They might as well blow it up this off-season and do right by Dame by sending him somewhere desirable.

Only problem with that notion is that Simmons has made well known that he wants no part of playing any other position outside of PG. If that was the case, Philly would have tried it already.

I don’t think that Dame realizes that nor do I think that he realizes that Simmons is even more emotional and sensitive than he is. As I’ve said in this thread, those subliminals that Dame loves throwing out there is only going to create the same issues with Simmons as it did in Philly.

YOU nikkaS HAVE SHORT MEMORIES.

76ers are shifting Ben Simmons to power forward, and it's the move that could unlock their full potential

Did you really try and use a year and a half old article with Brett Brown still being the coach to help support your argument :laff:

Even then, it's a difference between trying something in practice and during a live game. You can use Simmon's shooting three's in practice as a perfect example of that.

I don't even think that you read the article before you tried to post it.

Playing Ben at 4 is a terrible idea because he don’t space the floor. He’s just clog the lane for Dame. If he’s gonna be a 4 then he needs to play with a stretch 5, which Portland doesn’t have.
