DAMN backwards or in it's original format?

I been listening to this album all morning for the 1st time backwords
Which order do u think is better?

Original format. I can't believe anyone would actually pay for a backwards version of the album. Obviously some people did. The album was made how it was made because that's the order it was meant to go in. I love Kendrick but I always thought the "It means a different thing backwards" thing was super gimmicky. The album starts off with high energy tracks like DNA, and closes with more personal tracks like Fear and Duckworth. Having the first 3 tracks be Duckworth, God, and Fear sound fukking crazy and makes no sense. A slow 8 minute song as track 3?



The way Duckworth ends by rewinding the album is how it's supposed to go. If you flip that, it loses all of its meaning because you don't understand it yet. And hearing the album close out with Element, Yah, DNA, and then Blood is just really confusing. I listened to it backwards once and I'd go so far as to say the album sounds crazy and out of place that way.

Daps butvyeah that’s what I’m saying, I think the backwards version was a gimmicky cash grab. And I love Kendrick. So I’m not hating. I think the backwards thing was a fan theory and he kind of jumped onto the wave and made some extra bread. IMHO he never intended for it to be played backwards when he first sequenced it.

Yeah most definitely. It doesn’t work the other way. If you hear Duckworth first and it ends with it rewinding backwards through the album it makes no sense because you haven’t heard the album yet. Duckworth being the first track on the “cash grab edition of this album” is retarded.

Honestly, I just decided to listen to the album today for the 1st time since last year and on youtube that's the version they have up
So I just made a thread about it
