Same here ...while i find characters, lore, and stories interesting I refuse to read through 4+ decades of material to be up on things. Especially since all the comics interlock/cross paths at times.
Most I could be bothered to read are major events and independent one off stories.:francis:



Honestly a lot of it feels irrelevant to my life experiences also :manny: Which is why I don't care for African Americans who try and "blackface" superman and goku. The construct of superman and goku ...while interesting as characters aren't culturally relevant enough to me that a "blackface version" will move me one way or another. You can literally track the inclusion of things in comics from mystics, muscle bound men, ninjas, mutants, to techo-(this & that) with the times and whatever was popping off in the "white" public imagination at the time. While those things effected us also they were not the main cultural political thrust of African Americans ...simply the "white america context" in which things happened.


I'd like to see things that deal with the cultural political thrust of African Americans such as....

Phil Ivey
"The tiger woods of poker" business owner, gambler, and high roller going off on high stacks adventures.






DROP Squad(full movie on youtube)
Squad of people who snatch up sell outs, drug dealers, c00ns, etc. house them under a front store and "de program" them


Always Outnumbered, Always Outgunned(full movie on youtube)
Council of men in the neighborhood who deal with drug dealers and addicts. Will we kill, bansh, etc. this one.....

Dude is like like a secret agent / lecturer. He actually went "out in the field" to get info, expose people, make connections, organize at riots, etc. ....in addition to giving lectures for cash. I'd love to see something based on his life and adventures.





With that said you can't write those stories and take them to a comic convention where the stories would be irrelevant to the bulk of the audience. They should hold black comic fairs at high schools and universities where African Americans primarily attend. Instead of going to a comic fair and being confused as to why noone is buying your material. shyt get a venue and a local concert promoter street team same as local music groups do.... :yeshrug:

Yeah I subscribed to him about a month back. I don't keep up with the comics as a paying customer but I do follow the lore and story arcs so his channel had been like a cheat code. :pachaha:
