Didnt he play a lot of point guard his rookie season, which was still his best season as a pro. But he will fit in perfectly i think in Chicago. I think Thibs will get the most out of his ability.
I was laughing at dudes at the beginning of the season when they were crowning him and saying how stupid Memphis was for letting him walk.

Went to 3 Finals as a player, won 1 ring, and then won another in 2011 as a coach. Safe to say that Rick Carlisle achieved more as both a player AND a coach than OJ Mayo ever has or ever will.
Coli never ceases to amaze me. You guys pile it on Rick Carlisle as if we're NOT talking about OJ Mayo, a guy who's been underwhelming and without passion or drive his entire career. OJ Mayo comes up with one nice game for about 15 duds. Mike James has outperformed him ever since he was called up from the D-League...

All jokes aside, I know i like to pile on mayo. But he was literally playing garbage last night, Carlisle literally ran on the floor to call timeout and yank him off the floor and bench him for the rest of the game.
He still makes the same kind of mistakes like fouling but allowing the player to score the basket anyway which i HATED when that motherfukker was playing for the griz. And in transition with the ball he's more likely to commit a turnover than come out with a basket.
I didnt know coach would go in on him like that, but if anybody was watching that game he was embarrassing himself. Even missed a point blank layup like he was Tony Allen or somebody.

only thing about OJ that I was mad about was that Memphis let him go for nothing in return when he obviously had trade value.
OJ's stock now is shot he won't ever be seen as a starter. At the most he can be a JR Smith type of gunner off the bench for a playoff team. He is confusing because he has a decent vertical but zero explosiveness. His jumper is off and on and has zero leadership ability. And for him to have ok handles he turns the ball over way too often.
