Same shyt happened with my s7 edge, just called Verizon and they exchanged it under my insurance for free because it extends the manufacturers warranty that way I didn't have to pay a deductible. Just don't tell them it's been dropped.

insurance....
I never bother with insurance. I've owned 14 different smartphones and never once have I needed insurance. I've dropped all of them and only broken my EVO 3D when I damaged the charger port (not from a drop) and that was after the 4G LTE came out so I traded it in.

For the most part phone insurance is a complete waste of money. Also the deductible makes it not worth bothering with. Get a good case like UAG or Otterbox that can withstand a drop and you're good. I dropped my iPhone 7 on concrete several months ago in a UAG case and not a scratch on it.

Cell phone insurance can cost upwards of $9 a month. Add in the deductible and you're at over $360 cost for 2 years. Even without the deductible you paid $216 or more for "peace of mind."

I don't know why people think you need to pay for insurance for the duration of the phone.

Just insure the phone when you break it, cancel after they fix it.

I currently have an s7 edge the screen cracked and I was quoted £200 to fix it. I paid for insurance for 2 months which totalled £16 and £30 excess, you do the math.

Because they limit when you can add insurance to prevent this. You have a couple weeks to add insurance when the phone is new. Third party companies will want proof of purchase. Insurance companies don't exist to pay out claims to people who pull insurance fraud. They will track your behavior and bar you from being insured worst case. You might pull it off a time or so but you're better off just taking care of your shyt and not needing this. Even still your deductible is gonna be at least $150. You can probably pay to get it fixed by a different company close to that.

Why are you ignoring what I wrote and babling on. I had my phone for 8 months before the screen cracked i do this shyt all the time.

Talking bout my "deductible is gonna be at least $150" when I told you I paid £30 :camby:

With Verizon it's 30 if you don't get it the day of. That's all I did, added it, switched to my old phone then filed my claim. No extra money added, no deductible. Just don't say you dropped it.
