Samsung did a lot before they started doing smartphones. I love it when small minded people only take notices of shyt when its related to something pop culturist.
act like we're supposed to know about the beginnings of giant corps brehs :fohmayne:
we have other shyt on our minds to worry about other than a company whose products I purchase only occasionally.

I had always thought it was common knowledge. Samsung been diverse.

They invested in FUBU as well.

I honestly can't associate with people who can't see beyond mainstream bullshyt, I pretty much lose interest in the conversation.

There's a pic that illustrates that, in reality, only a few companies really control everything. All we really have is the illusion of choice.
Whether it's 4 options or 400, it's still a choice :comeon:

Who cares if everything's run by a few companies? It's not like it's glaringly obvious when walking down the aisle that jif and skippy are owned by the same company

South Korea: a model of development? | Mark Tran

After the Korean war, South Korea was one of the world's poorest countries with only $64 per capita income. Economically, in the 1960s it lagged behind the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) – currently holding elections marred by violence . Since then the country's fortunes have diverged spectacularly. South Korea now belongs to the rich man's club, the OECD development assistance committee (DAC). The DRC has gone backwards since independence and, out of 187 countries, ranked bottom in the 2011 Human Development Index.

South Korea, however, benefited from big injections of foreign aid, first from the US, then Japan. A briefing paper from KoFID, a South Korean network of civil society organisations, and ReDI, a South Korean thinktank, points out that the US offered about $60bn in grants and loans to South Korea between 1946 and 1978. In the same period, the total amount of aid provided by the US to the entire African continent was $68.9bn. Korea – considered by the US an important ally during the cold war – indisputedly used the aid well. Seoul was not afraid to stand up to the US when they differed on development strategy as well.

u studied a bit about samsung's rise in school

in korea, samsung is known as a chae bol which like a conglomerate

the korean government essentially allowed samsung to break every single rule (in the usa they got laws against monopolies and fair business practice etc) to allow samsung to grow and dominate the market. the korean government figured that samsung would help to bring the country out of 3rd world status.

and with no laws restricting its growth, and with the full support of the government, samsung grew rapidly in the 80s and 90s and to the present.

there are still many ppl in korea that believe samsung actually runs the government, and samsung has its hand in all governmental policy

Wrong, South Korea subsidized their infant industries and gave them export subsidies just like all developed countries did. There were many chaebols before Samsung but they were allowed to fail if they didn't sell products. Read Joe Studwell's How Asia Works to see how East Asians did it. Japan did the same with Zaibatsu. They lied to you in school.

Then don't run off the mouth without checking your facts:stopitslime: or risk coming off like a fool like you just did.
