Gears wasn't all dedicated servers. Only certain playlists and ranked modes. You'd know within 10 seconds whether you landed on a dedicated server or not.

anything's possible, but so far they've only indicated it would be used to play previous generation games, and assist with Vita 'remote play'

I didn't say name 3 games that used dedicated servers, I said name 3 that had lag issues That list probably took you an hour to come up with

Look, Sony made it appear that would be the case just like they made it appear that they would make PS2 games compatible via a software update. They renigged on all that. A single handful of games this entire gen was on dedicated servers for PS3

We arent missing anything because itll be on that ps4 at some point. Till then, we have other titles to waste time playing.

This dude is sad. If you have people that are near you, say the same state, then ded servers will not likely have much effect. Your own connection latency will have more effect than whether you are using p2p or not.
All this "lag free" bullshyt is just that, bullshyt. I've played plenty of games that have ded servers and still experienced lag because I had a sucky connection. But let's sit here while this idiot writes his long ass paragraphs about why the Xbox is so much better than the ps4..like his opinion will really sway anybody

Since its not an "opinion" it will sway plenty of gamers, especially those who are not on some nerdy fanboy steez I hear you about your shytty connection you said you had. Guess what, we already in the future. Internet speeds basically double every two years is it? They was just doubled early this year. What that means is speeds are faster now buddy. Less lag is something all games will experience sooner than later. Once upon a time we talked about how comcast had 200mbps avialable. Google was coming out with there own internet as well. Everything discussed including lag free gaming will be a reality THIS GEN. Sorry if that upsets you, just get a PS4 if you don't like that

Its not the same type of "cloud". Microsofts cloud can do what sony's cloud can do, but not vice versa. And it would take more than just money to duplicate it. Its something Microsoft does as a company. Sony as a company makes shytty TV's, is a shytty movie company, and thats about it. This isn't there area of expertise bruh. Neither is online anything...

sony owns it.. they can do with it whatever they what

it's a totaly different infrastructure.

Sony could create their own cloud service similar to azure, but it wouldn't have anything to do with what's already in place with gaikai.

Sony doesnt have enough money right now to build this type of infastructure, so don't get your hopes up that they will be doing it any time soon.
