If your gold membership carries over then it's safe to say prices won't be affected. Besides azure covers more than just xbox live, it covers the whole microsoft network.

They already announced that they wouldn't raise it. They raised the price once in 10yrs then offer the service for cheaper than the old price directly from there dashboard (Tru Story)So ms isn't going to raise the price for live?
If you silver and you go for 5days without renewing for gold they give you a $2 for 2months or $1 for 1 month. Or there's links only for $2 for 2months so in reality if you couldn't afford the $50 there are easy to find alternatives so you'd only pay as low as $12 a year.
